Red and Pink Week {2013}

Willow joined me for some RED and PINK fun this week!!

The Fusion girls got their first taste of RED and PINK!
They did a lovely job, if you ask me!!

XALT. lol! I guess Black's the new RED and PINK for most of these girls!

Love this girl and her enthusiasm for theme outfits!!

To Kill a Mockingbird starring a Fusion student as Jem.
He rocked it!!
The entire play was amazing though!
I seriously feel blessed that we live in a town that loves theater!
It's one of my faves!!

Chase's sister gave me this scarf and it's too cute.
"Thank you" if you're reading!!

Oh! Winter Jam, how you wear me out!
You provided some good entertainment and
quality time with TSM students so...
I'll let it slide this time!
But seriously, the one day it snows in NC! C'MON!!

Recreating Pumpkin Show

Envying everyone's Pumpkin Show Facebook status's then driving with an Adele CD in is a bad combination. It made me sad! So I got to thinking and Chase was so sweet about deciding to spend our evening recreating the greatest free show on earth!!

The pumpkin patch was our obvious first stop. A local church sets out tons of pumpkins in their front yard and sells them as a fundraiser for their mission trip. Willow helped us pick out the perfect pumpkin, not too big, not too small, pretty rounded but not perfectly.

For a fair-like dinner we went to Uncle Bucks where fried food can be found everyday. The next time you're there try the bunless burger with 'mashed taters.' delish!!
The closest thing to the large variety of sweets the pumpkin show has to offer was Sweet Frog, our local froyo shop. Too bad they didn't have pumpkin flavored froyo.

That night we had plans to attend the downtown ghost walk. The tour goes through the historical district, tales of the cities history as well as particular individuals history were shared by our guide who is a local pastor. Our group was bigger than average which made the experience of walking city streets hemmed in by a crowd of people even more authentic for our purpose.

Recreating the Pumpkin Show was a complete success. The Pumpkin Show is a must see so visit Ohio in the Fall and make sure to go the third week of October! If you ever find yourself pinning for some hometown traditions think outside the gourd and recreate.

Big Advice on a Small Miracle

The other night, lying in bed, my heart constricted as an anxious feeling welled up inside of me.  What if I'm never ready to be a mom? What if I'm always too fussy, too nit picky, to insecure to decide it's time to take another human's life into our hands? While talking to a friend, I brought it up and she gave me some really good advice.
Accept your kids for who they are.  Don't try to force them into who or what you want them to be.  If they aren't an A student then they aren't an A student and that's OK.
The child God creates and gives natural gifts and personality to will be miraculously better than the person I try to contrive into my "perfect" little mold.

For now I'll just have to practice on these too!!

Summer Vaca

Having the summers off allows me to spend time with the Xalt students!
And I love it!!
There's been Sweet Frog dates
late night Taco Bell
(with no worry of being out too late)
Summer Lunch Crew
(we pick a restaurant and eat lunch together)
sand volleyball
and more dance rehearsal...!!!

Having the summer off also means spending Monday with Chase.
Last Sunday night, we went camping.
Willow even got to come along.
I don't think she loved it but
it may grow on her.
For dinner we cooked potatoes in the fire
then roasted...bacon.
That was a first
but it tasted good!

Between all of that, I spent time with the puppster
and worked around the house.
I even finished the 5th Harry Potter Book!
My last Les Lit was ages ago...eek!
Speaking of Willow, she's spending a few weeks with our parents
so hopefully there won't be any damages to report.

Groom'd

Willow likes to go to PetSmart because of all the attention, other animals to sniff, and usually a toy at the end of the visit. Today our visit was a little different, Willow experienced her first grooming. She started out going somewhere she loves only to be blindsided by a bath and nail clipping...not her favs. I decided that grooming at PetSmart is Punk'd for dogs.

Willow. Got. GROOM'D...but isn't she cute!!

Dream Come True!

Sunday night my dream for Willow's first Winter came true!! IT SNOWED!!! I knew she would love it but did not expect her to become so hyper.  She was running circles around us and trying to eat the snowflakes like a bundled up little kid.
Finally she just laid face down in it, like
"Awww this is the life.
Why haven't you guys shown me this stuff before?
It's the best!!!"

One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure

Or in this case: One Dog's Pillow is Another Dog's Toy Box!!

In an attempt to bribe our dog off of the furniture we got her a comfy pillow of her very own!

Since we gave it to her, here she is sleeping...on the floor!

Here she is playing. Notice all of her toys stored up around her.

At least, she's using it! Even if it isn't to sleep on!

Silly Willy

Willow with Bo and Tank. These are Chase's parents labs.

Willow really enjoyed meeting Bo and Tank.
Her and Tank really hit it off.  They played and played, you would have thought they were going to eat each others' faces off.  I think Bo thought, "Ugh! another dog, and... it's a girl."
Mostly, we are a happy little family but sometimes Willow has uncontrollable allergies that cause her to use a whole box of tissues!! Oh well...we still have fun.  Oh and that bucket holding her toys...totally destroyed.

Puppy Love

Hello Everyone. I'm Willow!!

Thursday I was taken to the vet to have a surgery done and when my owner came to pick me up she had two people with her that smelled kinda familiar, like I had maybe met them before.  Instead of going with Rose, I went with those two other people.  The car ride was a little iffy. I'm not so sure I like moving that fast, I slip and slide all over the seat.
Since I was found wandering around town I've lived at two houses already, now this is my third home.  You can understand why I'm not a big fan of getting into the car because so many times I've been taken to a new house with all new things.  I am starting to like it here though.
Yesterday we went to a picnic and there was a LOT of food (did I mention I love to eat anything) and a lot of people.  All of these little kids just loved on me all day, I got to lick a lot of food off of their faces!!! It was a long day so when we got home I was tuckered out.

Today all of the neighbor kids came to visit me. What can I say? They love me.  One of the boys is almost my size and he likes to play on the ground with me, on all fours too.  He squeezes my face and talks to me like another dog.  I think we must be from the same pack. There are a lot of people around here to play with.

I'm excited to meet all of Les and Chase's family and friends, although they tell me it's a long trip.  They say I will love to meet Bo, Tank, and Vera.  I hope they like me.  Les said her Grandma will really like me because I'm such a sweet and smart girl.
